Planning for our big day

The party

Picture
Kal and I had our engagement party on June 13th at Arianas catering hall in Staten Island.  It went off without a hitch and our friends & family had such an amazing time.  The dance floor was always full and Kal had alot of my family up and dancing the debka (kinda like the greek dance you always see in movies).  The food, music and decor was great!  Below are just a few of the pictures of our night and below are some "details" pictures.

Will you be my bridesmaid?

Picture
I ordered cookies through an etsy seller for the cookies and edible paper (for favors below).  They all have purple dresses and read "will you be my matron of honor", "will you be my maid of honor", etc..I'll put more pics up soon.  I recieved the cookies in clear cellophane bags and a few were cracking, so I bought plastic containers to ensure no more breakage

Picture
Candles I purchased from Bath & Body works on sale.  I made the labels on photoshop and affixed with double sided tape.  Viola! Bridesmaid candle :) (More pictures under DIY done)

Picture
Frames I kinda DIY for the junior bridesmaids.  I got the frames from the Christmas Tree Shop for $1.99 each and the letter from AC Moore for $1.99

Will you be my flower girl?

Picture
Books I purchased for the flower girls.  Its a cute story that explains the roles of the flower girls, and comes with a cute purple flower necklace (how perfect!).  I bought them through the knot.com.

Will you be my ringbearer?

Picture
Kal has twin five year old cousins that we are asking to be our ringbearers...

A little something for the parents...

Picture
I wanted to get our parents a "little something", so I purchased frames from www.everafterstore.com.  They were about $12 each and I got free shipping.  They looked a little cheesy online, but look great in person (will post pics soon).  I don't know if I want to put a picture of us from when I was little or something more recent...

Favors

Picture
I wanted to give a little something as a favor, so after googling "edible favors", I came across this idea.  Chocolate dipped oreos that will have our names on them.  I ordered the edible paper from an Etsy seller and decorated with the help of my mother and sisters.  One cookie is dipped in chocolate sprinkles and the other in fuschi and white sprinkles.  I attached my favor tag with some pink ribbon to finish.
